I dreamed of making love with my manager! What does that mean?
This is another fun question I often receive from people after telling them I specialize in dream analysis.
What is important to remember is that dreams communicate to us in a symbolic language, and most of the time romantic dreams are in fact not about love making at all, but more about a symbolical union of some kind.
If you’ve recently had a dream where you had a romantic encounter with your boss, I would suggest first exploring why you think your unconscious has chosen him or her to suddenly appear in your dream. If you think of it – there are over 7 billion people in this world, and probably somewhere between 100 and 10,000 people, depending on your lifestyle habits, that you have encountered over the years. So why did your unconscious choose your boss for this particular dream?
People don’t just show up in your dream by chance. There is always a specific reason. Your unconscious carefully chooses particular people to help showcase a certain emotional experience that your are going through, to help portray a character trait, or convey a special message.
As a general rule of thumb, love making dreams tend to have a tendency of relating to our inner qualities in some fashion, so I would recommend at least considering that option. What comes to mind when you think about your boss? Are there some characters traits you really enjoy about him/her? There may be some aspects of yourself that you see in your boss that your unconscious is now helping you see that you have as well. Maybe it’s time to bring those qualities to the forefront!
Because this is a dream about a manager, it could be a symbolic representation of leadership qualities – maybe it’s time for you to take more control!
The dream could also symbolize that it may be good for you to work with your manager closer. Perhaps there’s a project developing on the horizon, and it would do you good to unite on some level? Or maybe it’s time to look at him/her with more acceptance.
We all have both feminine and masculine aspects within us, and we feel best when these are balanced. Happy love making dreams are wonderful for making us feel more in tune, balanced, and in the flow, and with a bit of luck they can really help bring about more insights about our inner qualities and personalities.
There is of course always the chance, that you do actually like him/her…!
