How to decode a dream!

How to interpret your dreams:

Write down the dream

By writing the dream down, you keep the dream alive – and may even remember more details as you go! Writing our dreams open the communication flow between our unconscious and conscious, as well as left and right brain.

What type of dream is it?

Think about what type of dream it is. Do you think it is trying to bring attention to hidden aspects within you? Or shed more light on a situation? Or is it coming with messages or an intuitive insight? Or is it an astral dream, with a loved one in your dream?

Work with dream associations

All symbols and characters in your dream are chosen for a specific reason. By writing down the associations you have for each symbol, you can easier figure out what the dream is trying to tell you. The best dream dictionary is always one that you have written yourself!

Take up the context

Ask yourself why the dream has come into your life right now – what happened the days before the dream? If you are being chased in the dream, where have you experienced a similar feeling in your daily life? Are you running away from something or someone? Or is it something you do yourself that frightens you? When we find a way to face up to what frightens us in daily life, most chasing dreams stop.

Reenter your dream and ask for guidance

A step I love doing with some dreams is Active Imagination! This is when we go back into the dream, while we’re awake, and imagine that we’re talking to dream figures or the dream in general. This is what Carl Jung referred to as Active Imagination. Your feelings and fears just want to be acknowledged. Once they are seen, healing begins!

Honor your dream

Finally, do something beautiful to honor your dream!
